The May 2016 issue of Water & Wastewater Treatment featured the new-to-the-UK Global Enflitec VPMF (Variable Pore Micro Filter) as Product of the Month.

The VPMF is a very efficient micro filtration system with a unique variable pore micro filter suitable for a wide range of applications. The backwashing system uses both water and compressed air to ensure a perfect back wash at the end of each filtration cycle, which enables the system to overcome many issues found in traditional filtration systems. Cost effective and reliable, the VPMF provides filtering from 0.2 to 25 microns and, in most cases, requires no coagulants.

A self-contained and fully operational pilot unit is now available for demonstration and evaluation in order to establish the operating parameters of a full-scale plant. This unit can be put into the field for onsite testing and evaluation purposes. For more info and to discuss a demonstration, contact Gurney Environmental.

The fact that there is no associated sewage odours [with the Accel-o-Fac wwtp] meant that the system could be located relatively near to the village, and, after 10 years of use, no sludge removal has been needed.

We are very pleased to be using this innovative management system in the reservoir at Pontsticill. This investment will improve the water quality for customers in the area and ensure they continue to receive a top quality supply of drinking water long into the future.
