Gurney Environmental Introduces the 'Tarantula'!

The SERIES 5 ‘Tarantula’ by Gurney Environmental is a uniquely designed, low-energy surface aerator that offers several distinct advantages. In facultative applications, a low-powered, non-aggressive model can be selected that allows solids to settle out for anaerobic digestion while still offering excellent oxygen transfer for the upper aerobic zone. This accelerates overall processing whilst also buffering gases and reducing odours.

For total mix situations, the ‘Tarantula’ can be configured with far more aggressive motor drives, impellers and slingers that provide massive surface shearing action that boosts oxygen transfer, but at low energy costs.

In deeper cells, the SERIES 5 can be equipped with an optional downhose system that draws water from lower depths where the typical DO content is very low. By bringing this low DO water to the surface and into the shearing action, extraordinarily high oxygen transfer can be accomplished due to Henry’s Law (low DO water uptakes oxygen at a faster rate).
