Gurney Environmental have completed the installation of a 2nd ResMix 1000 ‘Source Management’ system for Jersey Water in Grand Vaux Reservoir.
The ResMix system — ordered by Jersey Water in March this year — follows the installation of a similar system at the Jersey Water Reservoir, Val de la Mare last year.
Jersey Water continue to see the benefits of adopting the ResMix system and have enjoyed significant savings in energy and treatment costs at Val de la Mare, which was installed this time last year.
The ResMix ‘Source Management’ system improves and maintains water quality in the reservoir with the benefit of downstream savings at the water treatment works, which has made it the first choice for many water utilities.
Grands Vaux reservoir is located in St. Saviour parish and was constructed in 1952. The reservoir holds just over 190,000 m3. The dam is 141m long and 15m high. Located near St Hellier, Grands Vaux Reservoir was the first big development by the Water Works company after the occupation of Jersey during the second World War.
