One of the biggest concerns for water operators is being able to provide a water supply of consistent quality. In conjunction with its partner, WEARS Australia, Gurney Environmental have been working with water authorities to achieve this stabilisation in treated water reservoirs by installing the ResMix Vital system.
Engineers from Gurney Environmental have just completed the installation of a ResMix Vital system in a selected potable water storage reservoir in North Wales for Welsh Water.
The highly efficient ResMix Vital which can incorporate an optional chlorine dosing system, requires only 10 percent of the energy used by alternatives. It is the only water management solution capable of preventing dead spots and short circuiting while generating homogenised conditions in the water column.
Achieving Reservoir Stability
The ResMix Vital system is recognised as a best practice, cutting-edge solution for eliminating water stratification, temperature variation and dead water zones in potable water reservoirs. ResMix Vital was engineered and designed to collapse into a compact form for easy installation into potable water storage reservoirs through small openings. The system, which can incorporate dosing reagent mixing and dispersant, is purpose-designed, high flow, low powered, easy to install, and addresses reservoir circulation and stratification related issues.
The ResMix Vital can reduce the impact of chlorine residuals by as much as 45% (see case study data chart below), eliminate stratification, as well as reduce surface temperature, remove dead zones in the reservoir, and minimise floor sedimentation and biological build-up on internal surfaces.

Gurney Environmental, WEARS UK partner, is working with water companies who can benefit from the optimisations offered by this system in the UK and have achieved DWI Reg 31 approval for use in potable water reservoirs.
