Following a major order in September 2012, SAGUAPAC have placed a further large order for elements of the Accel-o-Fac® system which is now being successfully operated on a major WWTP serving the City of Santa Cruz with a population of 2.5 million people.
Located in a northern suburb of the City, the North WWTP utilises lagoons of about 50 hectares. Normally SAGUAPAC would have constructed more lagoons to increase treatment capacity, but as no land was available at this WWTP, another option was needed.
Instead, a Gurney Environmental Accel-o-Fac® design and equipment upgrade was installed. Within 6 weeks of commissioning, the lagoons established a positive DO content — the first time this had happened.
So successful has the Accel-o-Fac® system been in treating wastewater at the lagoons, the operator has been able to increase wastewater flow to a loading of 1.5 times that of pre installation levels.
